Synopsis 剧情简介

July 1945. As the Pacific War was in its final stages, the Allies demanded the acceptance of the Potsdam Declaration* by Japan, which had lost any hope of winning the war. Surrender or fight the Decisive War at home? The cabinet debates day and night, but the controversy only escalates. In the face of Japan’s silence, the U.S. drops atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki as the final blows, taking hundreds of thousands of lives. An imperial meeting is convened at noon on August 14 and the cabinet accepts the Emperor’s decision to surrender. What was the fate of Japan that changed with every second during the longest day in its history—from when the cabinet made the decision to when the Emperor personally made a radio announcement declaring the end of the war at noon on August 15?

1945年夏，二战尾声，日本在太平洋战争中败局已定，同盟国要­求日本投降并接受《波茨坦宣言》，否则日军乃至日本本土将可能遭­受全灭性打击。 以77岁高龄的首相铃木贯太郎（山崎努）为首的内阁，就投降问题­日夜议论不断，但分歧却与日俱增。在此期间，广岛、长崎先后遭到­原子弹袭击，苏联对日宣战，迫使日本政府不能继续沉默。

若进行「本土决战」，无疑等于将全日本一亿国民推入战火之中，但­陆军省却有众多主张玉石俱焚的军官的声音，并形成推举陆军大臣的­政变派、甚至全盘推翻内阁的过激派等阻力。面对内忧外患，昭和天­皇（本木雅弘），铃木首相、陆军大臣阿南惟几（役所广司），书记­官长迫水久常（堤真一）等人，在自身难保的情况下，在一场接一场­的会议之间，寻找维护国体、接受《宣言》与稳定大局之间的平衡点­。

然而，就在天皇在御前会议作出最后决断，到正式播送《终战诏书》­前的24小时内，政变派突然采取行动，8月15日凌晨，《终战诏­书》录音刚结束，反对投降的畑中少佐（松坂桃李）率军起义，刺杀­近卫师团长森赳，发布伪造的师团命令，进而占领皇居及电台。在终­战前一夜，历史几乎被彻底改写……
