中国知名编剧张巍继《女相·陆贞传奇》后又一古装励志偶像剧，《女医·明妃传》，根据真实历史人物事件改编的女性传奇，由《步步惊心》、《风中奇缘》导演李国立执导，霍建华（《花千骨》、《倾世皇妃》）、刘诗诗（《步步惊心》、《风中奇缘》）、黄轩（《红高粱》、《芈月传》）、金晨（《无心法师》）等主演。刘诗诗演绎明代女医者谭允贤，内容围绕着她从少女、女官、军医到贵妃的人生经历，过程中牵扯了与两代君王明英宗（霍建华饰）、代宗（黄轩饰）以及瓦剌国师也先（袁文康饰）的情感纠葛。

大明国体昌盛却礼教严苛，女子隐疾难治。出身医学世家的谭允贤悬壶济世，得到老百姓的赞扬和支持，渐起救天下女子之心。面对封建礼教和世俗观念的冲击，允贤在学医道路上遭遇重重困难和阻碍，便周旋在两代帝王朱祁镇和朱祁钰之间。允贤凭借对医学的热爱，历经限难，突破严苛的礼教束缚，最终成功开创女医制度，成为名扬天下的一代女国医。

By scriptwriter Chang Wei (Female Prime Minister) and seasoned director Lee Kwok Lap (Scarlett Heart, Sound of the Desert), combines the stories of Ming Dynasty first female physician Tan Yun Xian and Empress Hang in The Imperial Doctress.

Starring Wallace Huo (The Journey of Flower, The Glamorous Imperial Concubine), Liu Shi Shi (Scarlett Heart, Sound of the Desert), Huang Xuan (Red Sorghum, Legend of Mi Yue) & Jin Chen (Wu Xin), this drama is set against the Ming Dynasty under the rule of Emperor Zhu Qi Zhen. Tan Yun Xian came from a long line of medical practitioners, her family had been serving as court physicians for several generations. However, the practice for female physicians ground to a halt when many were accused of abusing their authority. Yet, Yun Xian was determined to learn medicine and did so in secrecy – but things became difficult when her path crossed with that of the Emperor himself.
