Sing is a 2016 American 3D computer-animated musical comedy film produced by Illumination Entertainment. It was directed and written by Garth Jennings and co-directed by Christophe Lourdelet. The film stars the voices of Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson, John C. Reilly, Taron Egerton and Tori Kelly. The plot involves a group of animals that enter a singing competition, hosted by a koala hoping to save his theater.

SING Sypnosis
Set in a world like ours but entirely inhabited by animals, Illumination Entertainment’s Sing stars Buster Moon (Academy Award® winner Matthew McConaughey), a dapper koala who presides over a once-grand theater that has fallen on hard times. Buster is an eternal—some might even say delusional—optimist who loves his theater above all and will do anything to preserve it. Now faced with the crumbling of his life’s ambition, he has one final chance to restore his fading jewel to its former glory by producing the world’s greatest singing competition. From writer/director Garth Jennings, Sing is produced by Illumination Entertainment founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborator Janet Healy.
The film has received two Golden Globes Nominations. The film includes more than 60 classic songs from famous artists, and also has an original song by Stevie Wonder and Ariana Grande called “Faith.” It was released by Universal Pictures on December 21, 2016. The film received generally positive reviews from critics and has grossed $590 million worldwide. The film, along with The Secret Life of Pets, marks the first time that Illumination Entertainment has released two feature films in the same year.
